The Opening of Dongguan Metro Line 1

On the morning of November 28 at 9:30, the initial operation of the first phase of Dongguan Metro Line 1 officially opened. Line 1 starts from Dongguan West Station in the west and ends at Meitang Station in the east. The total length of the line is 57.99 kilometers, including 20.27 kilometers of elevated railway, 35.44 kilometers of underground railway, and 2.28 kilometers of ground railway and transition section. There are 21 stations in total along the line (13 underground and 8 elevated), 1 train depot, 1 parking lot, and 4 main substations.

The trains on Line 1 are B-type vehicles developed with the highest level of fully automatic operation, GoA4. The trains use a 6-car formation with 4 motorized and 2 trailer cars, with a maximum operating speed of 120 kilometers per hour. After the opening of Line 1, passengers can transfer to Line 2 at the Civic Center Station, marking Dongguan Metro's official entry into the era of transfers.
